Palmer-Trinity Hearing ... Download a copy of the agenda packet for the July 19 Palmer-Trinity Hearing. Please note: if you must have a hard copy, be patient as it is a very large file. A two-page cover agenda also is available for your convenience. Meeting takes place at the Palmetto Bay campus of Christ Fellowship Church (8900 SW 168 St.), starting at 6:30 p.m.

Senior Seminar ... If you're looking for "Less Stress, More Joy," you will find it at the Edward & Arlene Feller Community Room at Ludovici Park on Aug. 17 at 10:30 a.m. This seminar is hosted by Baptist Health South Florida.

Mosquito Control ... Palmetto Bay experiences severe mosquito nuisance due to its proximity to the Everglades and Biscayne Nat' Parks. Miami-Dade County's Mosquito Control Division is starting inspections/treatment of known mosquito breeding areas, and will conduct spraying to control mosquito populations. Call 3-1-1 to report severe annoyance issues.

Skate Pavilion Multi-Pass ... Skate enthusiasts may enjoy great savings with the purchase of a volume discount pass, good for use at Palmetto Bay Park.

Thalatta Estate Sculpture ... "Fountain of Youth" sculpture (see "Best Wedding Venue" photo above) to be installed at Thalatta Estate, features an armillary: a timeless symbol of wisdom and knowledge, which serves to link the park to the long history of navigational mapping systems and the history of the Biscayne Bay region.

IBus Market Stop ...
The Village IBus, Palmetto Bay's free week-day commuter service, has reintroduced stops at Publix Supermarket at 146 and US-1.

Men's Health Month ...Councilman Howard J. Tendrich recently stepped up to help promote Men's Health Month at Jackson South Community Hospital by taking a prostate cancer screening. See more on Facebook.

Best Wedding Venue ... Thalatta has been honored by Miami New Times as the 2011 BEST WEDDING VENUE, according to the publication’s annual “Best Of Miami” edition. Last year, we landed the BEST DOG PARK (for Perrine Wayside Park). To book your next function, call 305-234-6383.

Free Admission to Deering ... Deering honors Palmetto Bay July 16, by offering free admission. "Fee-Free P.L.A.Y. Day" allows guests complimentary admission, as well as hands on eco-art activities, science discovery programs, and historic house tours – all for free! (July 1)

Security Survey ... Village Police security specialists are now offering a critical examination of your home/business to determine what the present security status is, identify deficiencies, determine the level of protection needed, and to make recommendations to improve the overall security of your premises. Survey takes about an hour. Call Officer Peter Judge at 305-278-4018 or via e-mail.

Court Rental Fees ... Parks & Rec department recently served up its fee structure for play at the Coral Reef Park Tennis Center. Here's the flyer.
